Club events
The Club operates as a special interest section of the British Airways Club and section members are required to be paid up members of that
club.
The Members, their families, and guests (over 16), are able to enjoy organized ski and social activities and the Section is generally able to draw
on a wealth of contacts throughout the world when organising ski trips.
Our principal activities are a 'Warm-Up Week' to start off the season in mid-December at Zell am See, and number of visits to various European
and World airline ski meetings. These meetings provide opportunities for better skiers to compete representing the Club, but also bring social
interaction with other skiers and airline staff from around the world, and some very entertaining aprés ski gatherings.
New members of any standard are most welcome, also snowboarders. Our aim is to provide superior ski instruction for all abilities, with enthusiasm to
improve being the main criterion, rather than achieved proficiency. We use good hotels and obtain excellent value for money, all adding up to a
quality ski & fun formula with extras - some challenging, some entertaining - that you could not find on a commercial package tour.

2020
Hi Folks,
I hope everyone is doing OK and enjoying the 'new' freedoms we are slowly experiencing.
We have spent that last few months pondering on the practicality of holding this year's December Zell week. Although things do appear to be getting
better and travel is getting less constrained week by week we think that there are too many volatile factors which we cannot affect and which we
cannot get around ( e.g. closed borders, cancelled flight routes, etc ) that would jeopardise the viability of the trip in health and financial terms.
We have chosen to make this decision at this time so flights and leave are not erroneously booked and also to give folks time to make alternative holiday
arrangements although there is nothing to stop folks still travelling to Zell for the week on an independent basis should conditions allow it.
The week is 12 -19 December, www.hotel-lebzelter.at - select Season Opening Package, cost €728 pp pw sharing a double, plus €35 for a single. (If you book
this, then we do run a week at a late stage, they will allow cancellation for you to change to our package, which may have some different conditions.) It
is very unlikely we will have numbers to sensibly run Martha's classes, so it would be non-supervised skiing.
We hope you understand the reasons behind our thinking and hopefully we will be back to normal Zell week in 2021.
We are still hoping to have some sort of summer social ( probably with folks bringing their own picnic ) but planning this too is no easy matter in the
current climate and the availability of locations. We have also taken the decision to extend 2019-20 membership for 12 months to cover 20-21 at no additional cost.
All the best and stay safe.
Rgds Paul and Graham.
AGM and Summer Get Together
Both of these events are currently TBA until the current Covid-19 restrictions are over and appropriate arrangements can be made.
The members of the BA Ski Club have now acquired a standard ski outfit. The advantages of this are two fold :
1) We would look like a team when we compete at events such as those hosted by ASCA, NAASF and IASF.
2) We can get hold of some really good kit (Spyder) really cheap (compared to UK prices - see below).
This is the choosen design of a midnight blue jacket with red, white and blue stripes and a discreet British Airways Ski Club /
Speedmarque logo on the front. Matching pants are also available. The pictures above show the actual jackets and pants..
Orders are placed in the spring ( by mid-April at latest ) for delivery in the autumn ( mid-November ). The cost will be in the
region of GBP 135 for the jacket, and GBP 125 for the pants, all inclusive of tax and delivery.
